These are a collection of links to newsletters, organizations and individuals I (Wes Fryer) consider to be "trusted voices" in our present moment of polarization and rising fascism.
The Mastodon channel "Federated Reader" is embedded below, which includes email newsletter links I (Wes Fryer) subscribe to on various platforms. This automated feed updates hourly.
More information about how I created / "vibe coded" this information feed is available on my GitHub.
I have created a group chat in Signal for “Resist and Heal.” The group’s purpose is to share news links related to anti-fascism and understanding our current political moment, from a “progressive” lens or viewpoint.
Because of "AI personas" I am re-thinking how I will manage and moderate membership. If you know me at this point and want an invite code, please contact me.
Additional links to organizations, videos and resources are included below.

Get involved with your local (or closest) chapter of Indivisible. For me that's IndivisibleCLT.
The "Confronting Whiteness" community and course, founded by Rev. Dr. Ben Boswell of Charlotte, North Carolina, are trusted voices for me.
I (Wes Fryer) am a trained facilitator for the "Confronting Whiteness" course and will be leading / facilitating a new cohort in Spring 2026. More information and interest form links are available on cw.wesfryer.com.
The church Ben leads in Charlotte, Collective Liberation Church, and our own CLT church, Caldwell Presbyterian, are also personal "trusted voices" / have leaders I trust.
The Union: "We are The Union, our goal is to build a 50-state infrastructure to support candidates, ensure every election is contested, and empower individuals nationwide with the knowledge and tools to drive collective action and strengthen their local and state communities."
Democracy North Carolina: Our mission is "To strengthen democratic structures, build power among disenfranchised communities, and inspire confidence in a transformed political process that works for all."
Carolina Migrant Network: Our "core mission is to provide legal services for individuals in removal proceedings. We provide legal education on the US immigration System and empower immigrant communities to participate in everyday and civic life. We envision a world of empowered, self-determined, organized communities free from fear of family separation."
* Many of these organizations are partners of Indivisible CLT, and partner organizations for No Kings 2 CLT.
We live in a polluted, fractured, and confusing information environment today in 2025. We live in an "attention economy" in which technology platforms and tools seek to command our attention and direct our thoughts. While advances in technology have been empowering and positive in many ways, they also continue to enable mass surveillance by central authorities.
