"RESIST and HEAL" is a grassroots campaign to resist techno-facism and heal our culture.
The goals of “Resist and Heal” meetups are to build community, share trusted voices, and encourage each other to take SPECIFIC ACTIONS to HEAL personally and RESIST cooperatively.
We support shared Constitutional values of human rights, representative democracy, religious tolerance, and non-violent resistance.
This is a long term culture change initiative, along with the "Heal Our Culture" project.
Finding and sharing our "trusted voices" in this moment is key, along with direct political action.
I was asked to speak at the "No Kings" protest and rally in Charlotte, North Carolina, on June 14 ,2025. The 8 minute video of my speech summarizes some of the goals and recommended action steps for the "Resist and Heal" project.
You can also check out a playlist of 7 YouTube shorts from that speech.
Wellness: Taking care of our mental and physical health, and the health/wellness of our loved ones and families.
Education: Educating ourselves and sharing "trusted voices" / media sources who can help us understand dynamic events around us in context.
Community Building: Connecting, networking, and supporting each other through in-person / face-to-face groups as well as online / virtual groups.
Resisting: Acting directly to resist fascism and techno-fascism. Building and understanding our own "menu of resistance" and taking concrete steps to support the values we believe in and oppose the actions of those who seek to dismantle democracy, oppose human rights, end religious tolerance, etc.
Protecting: Take steps to protect our privacy and the privacy of family and friends. Take proactive steps to prepare for natural and human-influenced disasters.
Healing: Acting as culture HEALERS not culture warriors in our communities. Working to build trust in people and institutions. Amplifying inspiring and uplifting stories of kindness, love and hope.
Serving: Acting as selfless public servants in our communities. Acts of public service could include serving food at a shelter for people experiencing homelessness, volunteering with a local non-profit, or serving as an elected community official or in a volunteer role with a local club or organization.
As I update this website on October 12, 2025, these are things we know.
Protest movements are growing around the United States. Plan to protest at #NoKings on Saturday, October 18, 2025. Get involved with your local chapter of Indivisible and find out how you can help / volunteer / get active.
National leaders for this protest movement ARE emerging, and these include state governors who are "standing up to the empire." Robert Reich noted on October 10th these governors will be likely candidates for President on the Democratic ticket in 2028.
Here are more things we know.
"The playbook of resistance" has been created and followed by others who have gone before us, including our African-American brothers and sisters who have struggled for centuries for freedom, justice, and human rights.
Mass protest is one of the strongest tool and strategy we will have to slow and eventually overcome the rise of techno-fascism in the United States by peaceful means. Our elected officials in Congress appear unwilling and unable to collectively act to oppose the Project 2025 agenda. It is not clear how effective our judges and judiciary will be in checking / limiting executive power. We do NOT want our military to follow the example of Egypt in 2013. Mass protest movements take time to organize and build, however, and that timeline is impossible to predict. We can learn from the past experiences of those who have protested government actions throughout the world.
This work will be opposed by techno-fascist advocates.
Non-violent protest is not violence-free, because of violent acts of those supporting the empire. See Lisa Sharon Harper's Oct 9th article, "Preparing for the Violence of Non-Violence" for more on this.
